FB: BIRTH PLACE?

MG: Pittsburg, PA

FB:  TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOUR PERSONAL LIFE?

MG: I enjoy living in Simpsonville,SC, with my wife, Malisa, 2 year old daughter, Ruthi, and infant son, Theodore. MY favorite thing about Greenville, SC is the diversity of unique restaurants. The “must see” for anyone visiting the area is a trip to downtown Greenville. I LOVE raising my children! In my moments of free time, I enjoy reading newspapers and magazines. I also play the guitar and particularly enjoy music of the 70s and 80s. My Pittsburg roots run deep…I faithfully root for the Steelers and Penguins. I have not completely strayed from my journalism background as you can still see me weekly on News Channel 4 discussing financial markets and investments.

FB: SO PITTSBURG, PA TO GREENVILLE, SC.  I FEEL THERE IS A STORY IN THERE SOMEWHERE.  WHAT WAS HER NAME?

MG: Lol, her name was journalism.  After graduating with a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse, my career as a sportscaster brought me to Georgia, Tennessee and ultimately Greenville, SC. I always assumed that everyone was aware of the benefits of investing and that everyone was doing it. I eventually realized this was not the case and I felt that I could truly make a difference in the lives of others by moving from journalism to the financial sector.

FB: CURRENT JOB?

MG: Financial Advisor with Williams Wealth Management

FB:  HOW DID YOU DECIDE TO PERSUE THAT AS A CAREER?

MG:  When I was eleven years old I had an evening newspaper route and mowed yards to earn money. He was elated when I had finally earned enough money to buy my very own Nintendo gaming system. My parents, however, were not as thrilled with My decision. After some education and persuasion by my father, I bought my first stock in Wendy’s, followed by investments in mutual funds. I was hooked! I made a habit of checking my stocks in the newspaper regularly. As I watched my money grow, Mike realized the power of investing.

FB: NINTENDO, THAT WAS AN IMPRESSIVE SYSTEM.  WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE GAME?

MG:

FB: SIMILAR TO PHOTOGRAPHERS, THERE ARE AT LEAST A MILLION FINANCIAL ADVISORS IN GREENVILLE.  WHAT SETS YOU APART FROM THE OTHERS?

MG: Communication with my clients is key as I help them navigate their long-term investment plan.  In a field that can often feel volatile, managing emotions and realizing successes plays an important role.  As a journalist, I honed my ability to take broad, complex concepts and condense them to understandable, applicable ideas. I focus on the financial needs of my clients, and also on the individual. I use these skills to my and my client’s advantage as a Financial Advisor at Williams Wealth Management.

FB: ANY CLOSING THOUGHTS OR ANYTHING ELSE YOU’D LIKE TO ADD OR PLUG (hint hint :)?

MG:  I like the response, timeliness and creativity in your approach. Your images evoke emotion and maximize personality.  I’m also pleased that you are always willing to keeping shooting until your clients are satisfied.

FB:  THANKS, THAT’S QUITE KIND OF YOU  (AS I SLIDE $50 ACROSS THE TABLE TO MIKE)!
